Aiguille en fête 3 : atelier avec James Hunting / workshop with James Hunting

Samedi matin, je m'étais inscrite à un atelier de broderie avec James Hunting.

James Hunting

 Objectif : "Transfert d'une image sur tissu avec fil et aiguille".

Ce fut un vrai régal : un animateur sympathique, drôle, dynamique et doué. Et surtout très ouvert à toutes les questions, suggestions et idées...

Nous avons donc écouté, questionné, brodé, défait, expérimenté de nouveaux matériaux....c'était vraiment super.

On Saturday morning I went to an embroidery class with James Hunting to learn "how to transfer an image on fabric with needle an thread".
It was a great moment : James Hunting is really a nice, funny, dynamic and open-minded person. And he is always ready to answer to any question or to show again and again how to do such or such stitch...
So we listened, we tried, we stitched, we unstitched, we tried new techniques ...it was really super.

Et voici mon travail ....je suis loin d'égaler le maître en matière de précision de point ;-)

Donc broderie au fil de lin sur toile lin avec un point de couchure...
So this is an embroidery with linen thread on linen with a couching stitch...


Je dois dire que c'est la première fois que je brode sur ce genre de modèle mais c'était vraiment une bonne expérience à cause des courbes qu'il fallait suivre et du fil de lin qui est irrégulier. J'aime le résultat final à la fois irrégulier et très précis.

I must confess it's the first time in my life that I embroider on such a subject and it was really cool because of the lines I had to follow and the linen thread which is not very regular. I love the final result which is both irregular and very precise.

Aiguille en Fête 2 : des stands / a few stands

Voici quelques stands que j'ai pu photographier (toujours avec l'accord de leurs propriétaires) soit le matin en arrivant, soit le soir juste avant la fermeture.

Here are a few photos of stands I took (always with the agreement of the owners) in the morning at the opening or in the evening just before the end of this festival.

The Vanrooyenhobby fabrics after a full day of hundred of people touching and searching the fat quarters : the two salesmen were tired of sorting out everything evening after evening !

et finalement un stand avec de très jolis bocaux dont je ne retrouve pas le nom ( je m'en excuse auprès de la propriétaire )

and finally here is a very nice stand but unfortunatelly I can't find its name again (so my apologies to the owner)

P.S. Il y a d'autres stands que j'aurais aimé vous montrer (comme celui de Cécile Franconie toujours aussi gentille et dynamique) mais il y avait tellement de monde que les photos étaient impossibles !!

I would have liked to show you other stands (like Cecile Franconie's who is always so nice and full of energy) but there were too many people to take photos !!

Impatience

D'abord, les premières fleurs de l'année aperçues lors de l'une de mes balades :

J'espère pouvoir en rapporter de belles images et j'y serai avec mes amies du club. Je me suis aussi inscrite à un atelier ...de broderie bien sûr.

and finally I am growing so impatient about this saturday which is going to be great :

I am going there with friends from my club and I will go to an embroidery class and I hope I will be able to take loads of photos for the blog.

Un simple petit porte-bobine / A simple home-made spool holder

Fabriqué simplement avec trois disques de carton superposés et collés, du tissus et...des piques à brochettes !

I simply made this with three cardboard discs glued together, some cloth and ... some skewers !

Cela faisait longtemps que les images de Pinterest me trottaient dans la tête.

I had been thinking about these pictures of spool holders from Pinterest for quite along time.

Mais je dois dire que mon modèle est un prototype plein d'imperfections qui mériterais une version un peu plus ...brodée !

But I must say my prototype is full of defects and would probably deserve a better version with some embroideries or cross-stitching maybe !
