First Mask : In my Bath

"In my Bath" is the first of a series of masks than I am planning to make. 

This one is about the powers of water on our mind.

So how do you feel when you look at it ?

Celui-ci évoque les pouvoirs de l'eau sur notre esprit.

Une histoire de brocante et de laine / A story about brocante and wool

Aujourd'hui je vous présente mon dernier tricot terminé hier (après avoir refait le col deux fois ! ). Il a une histoire un peu particulière : l'an dernier j'ai acheté un carton de laine à chaussettes ancienne en brocante et quand je suis arrivée chez moi j'ai trouvé au fond du carton un dos de pull complet tricoté dans un point de blé parfait et assez grand pour être à ma taille ! j'ai donc décidé de rendre hommage à cette tricoteuse inconnue et de faire un gilet en partant de ce dos....et voilà !

Yesterday I finished this cardigan and I wanted to tell you that it has a special story : last year I bought a box of old sock wool in a brocante and when I arrived home I found the back of a pullover knitted in a very good double moss stitch at the bottom of the box. Since it was my size I decided to knit a cardigan starting from it..and tah dah ! here it is !

 Vous avez sans doute remarqué des différences de couleurs, c'est volontaire. J'ai reteins la laine de départ qui était d'une couleur rouge bordeaux très démodée pour obtenir un nuance plus foncée et nuancée.

You probably noticed different hues of colors that's because I dyed it to have a darker and more variegated red than the original and very old fashioned bordeau.

Summer Hat

I am ready for summer with my embroydered hat ! 

Je suis prête pour l'été avec mon chapeau brodé !

Modèle improvisé pour couvrir un logo publicitaire et coton perlé.

I improvised the pattern to hide a logo and it is stitched with perlé cotton.

Birds of a Feather Shawl

J'ai terminé mon châle birds of a feather que j'avais commencé pendant mon voyage scolaire en Angleterre et ensuite pendant la classe de neige quelques semaines après pour occuper les longues heures de bus. Je ne me suis pas ennuyée même si c'est un modèle assez simple. Je l'ai tricoté avec des restes de laines assorties mais surtout très douces comme de l'alpaga (un précieux reste !) ou de la laine d'agneau ce qui en fait un châle super comfortable et doux.

I have finished my birds of a feather shawl that I started knitting when I went to my school trip to England in February, I also took it to the ski school trip three weeks later because of the many hours of coach trip. I didn't get bored at all although it is a rather easy pattern. I knitted it with different leftsovers but I used only very soft wool such as alpaca and lamb wool and it is really comfy ! 

J'ai presque respecté le modèle (j'ai toujours du mal à ne pas faire quelques modifications à ma sauce !), j'ai seulement fait les bandes de dentelles dans le beige au lieu de la couleur parce que je trouvait que cela ressortait mieux.

I almost respected the pattern..(I can't help changing a few things...) I chose to knit the lace in the beige colour because I thought it would be more visible.

Je l'ai testé en camping la semaine dernière, il est parfait !

I tested it last week when we were camping and it is perfect ! 

Pour l'Amour du Fil - Nantes 2018 : mes coups de coeurs

J'ai passé une soirée et deux jours à ce salon en très bonne compagnie cette année et c'était un vrai régal : les expositions étaient très riches et vraiment superbes.

I spent one evening and two days in Nantes with my friends and it was really great and the shows were really huge and beautiful.

je n'ai pas réussi à le prendre en photo entier parce que l'éclairage était catastrophique mais l'étiquette d'origine est assez savoureuse avec son prix : 1.50 dollars !

I couldn't make a good photo of it entirely because the light was so bad but the old label is unbelievable : 1.50 dollars ! 

"Mother and Son"

J'ai terminé cette broderie il y a une semaine : c'est un double portrait de moi et mon fils et des choses que nous aimons. Elle est très difficile à photographier à cause des fils nacrés et brillants que j'ai utilisés et qui paraissent ternes sur la photo.

I finished this embroidered panel one week ago : it is a double portrait of me and my son and the things we love. It is very difficult to take good photos of it because the shiny threads I used do not shine very much on the photos.

 

Utu cardigan

One week ago I finished and blocked my first top down cardigan and I am very happy with the result!

Il y a une semaine j'ai terminé mon premier gilet en top down et je suis super contente du résultat !

 

C'est le modèle Utu qui fait la couverture de la revue Laine n° 2 et évidemment j'ai fait ma propre version puisque je voulais utiliser de la laine Pingouin (de 1973 !) 

It's the Utu pattern which is here on the cover of Laine n°2 and I made my own version because I wanted to use some old but super quality wool (dating back from 1973 !)

Le voici au soleil avec mon châle au crochet en Alpaga
