Teinture naturelle à la rouille, peinture et colle textile, perles et broderie sur coton ancien et quelques autres manipulations.

I needed several months to make this textile creation....

Natural rust dye, textile glue and paint, beads and stitching on very coton and another few devices.

C'est un tableau textile très vivant qui change au gré des lumières grâce aux perles, paillettes et fils métalliques qui sont bien difficiles à prendre en photo.

It's a very lively creation that changes with the light thanks to the beads, strasses and metallic threads that are really difficult to capture.

First Mask : In my Bath

"In my Bath" is the first of a series of masks than I am planning to make. 

This one is about the powers of water on our mind.

So how do you feel when you look at it ?

"In my Bath" est le premier d'une série de plusieurs masques.

Celui-ci évoque les pouvoirs de l'eau sur notre esprit.

Alors, comment vous sentez-vous quand vous le regardez ?

DON'T STARE ! un oeil tactile / a tactile eye

Here is my latest crochet project : an eye that can be touched to feel the differences between the different materials that I used. It is designed to be pinned on a wall and I couldn't resist the temptation to play on the constrast between the fact that usually eyes are made to see, not to touch...;-) that's what inspired me the title of this work and the fact that parents often say "Don't stare" to the kids whereas here it is the contrary that is expected ! 

Voici mon dernier projet en crochet qui est enfin terminé : c'est un oeil à fixer sur un mur et qui est fait pour être touché afin de sentir les différences entre les matériaux utilisés. Le titre de ce travail a été inspiré par une habitude des parents anglophones qui disent souvent aux enfants "Don't stare ! " ce qui veut dire " ne regarde pas (les gens fixement c'est malpoli)" et c'est justement le contraire qui est attendu ici puisque habituellement un oeil n'est pas fait pour être touché !

In the sea.../ Au fond des mers...

Bienvenue dans mon océan...

Welcome to my sea...

Broderies et appliqués sur fond de soie sauvage. Je n'ai utilisé que des tissus que j'avais teint moi-même à l'exception du poisson qui est un recyclage d'un t-shirt en synthétique dont j'aimais les couleurs. Etoiles et méduse en crochet. Crabe et oursin en feutrine brodée. Plantes en rubans et dentelles. 

Je sais que ce n'est pas la saison pour aller à la plage mais j'aime imaginer qu'il s'agit d'une mer tropicale et bien chaude avec un beau soleil qui éclaire jusqu'au fond de la mer !

I have used only fabrics that I have dyed except for the fish which is made with an old T-shirt. The back is pure silk, I crocheted the jellyfish and the starfishes and made the crab and urchin with embroidered felt. The plants are made of ribbon and lace.

I know it's not really the season to go to the beach but I like to think that it is somewhere in a tropical country where the sunrays reach the bottom of the sea !

Devoirs de vacances / Summer homework

Cher(e)s ami(e)s je vous présente enfin aujourd'hui ma réalisation de cet été qui attendait une bonne lumière pour les photos (et encore le soleil d'automne éclairait trop le coin en haut à gauche....)

Dear friends, I am very happy to show you at last what I've been stitching this summer : it is 1,10 metres large and  90 cm high (unfortunately the sun was a little bit too bright on the top left hand side corner...)

 Un panneau de 1,10 mètre sur 90 cm réalisé en appliqué et broderie. Les différents éléments sont soit des réalisations personnelles soit des trouvailles en brocante.

The differents parts of this work were stitched by me or found at brocantes.

Le support pour la photo est une belle fourragère restaurée par Monsieur Simplyfil cet été.

For the photo I used an old cart that was rehabilitated by Mr Simplyfil this summer.
