Châle Chucherias / Chucherias Shawl

Chucherias est un modèle gratuit de Rahymah  que j'ai tricoté en aiguilles 4 en alternant des bandes de jersey de Lang Merino 400 Lace avec des bandes de point mousse de restes de laines. Il est simple à tricoter et l'arrêt des mailles avec un crochet est une technique intéressante qui crée une belle finition. Je recommande ce modèle de châle très enveloppant et qui tombe très bien.

Chucherias is a free pattern from Rahymah,  I knitted with size 4 needles, Lang Merino 400 Lace and left overs for the stockinette stitch parts. It is really easy to knit and the binding off with a crochet creates a beautiful border. I really like this pattern that create a very cozy and enveloping shape.

Birds of a Feather Shawl

J'ai terminé mon châle birds of a feather que j'avais commencé pendant mon voyage scolaire en Angleterre et ensuite pendant la classe de neige quelques semaines après pour occuper les longues heures de bus. Je ne me suis pas ennuyée même si c'est un modèle assez simple. Je l'ai tricoté avec des restes de laines assorties mais surtout très douces comme de l'alpaga (un précieux reste !) ou de la laine d'agneau ce qui en fait un châle super comfortable et doux.

I have finished my birds of a feather shawl that I started knitting when I went to my school trip to England in February, I also took it to the ski school trip three weeks later because of the many hours of coach trip. I didn't get bored at all although it is a rather easy pattern. I knitted it with different leftsovers but I used only very soft wool such as alpaca and lamb wool and it is really comfy ! 

J'ai presque respecté le modèle (j'ai toujours du mal à ne pas faire quelques modifications à ma sauce !), j'ai seulement fait les bandes de dentelles dans le beige au lieu de la couleur parce que je trouvait que cela ressortait mieux.

I almost respected the pattern..(I can't help changing a few things...) I chose to knit the lace in the beige colour because I thought it would be more visible.

Je l'ai testé en camping la semaine dernière, il est parfait !

I tested it last week when we were camping and it is perfect ! 

I love my Eyeball Shawl

Mon fils m'a offert le modèle pour Noël et je dois dire que dans la neige...

My son offered me the pattern for Christmas and I must say that in the snow...

Happenstance from the Book of Haps

Voici mon deuxième châle tricoté d'après un modèle du fameux Book of Haps, C'est une cadeau d'anniversaire pour ma fille qui est partie en vacances en Ecosse avec !

Here is my second shawl from the Book of Haps. It is a birthday present for my daughter who went on holiday to Scotland with it ! 

J'ai utilisé la laine dont je vous ai parlé dans mon dernier post avec une aiguille circulaire longue n°4. Il est super doux et plait beaucoup à sa propriétaire !

I used the wool I showed you in my last post with a long circular needle size 4. It is super soft and my daughter loves it !

MONTBRETIA by Carol Feller from THE BOOK OF HAPS

Il est terminé et magnifique ! Et malgré les quelques 400 mailles des derniers rangs, c'était un plaisir de le tricoter. J'ai utilisé de la Malabrigo sock et des aiguilles circulaires n°4.

It is finished and really beautiful ! although there were about 400 stitches in the last rows, I really loved knitting it. I used Malabrigo sock and circular needles number 4.

J'aime vraiment beaucoup cette laine souple et très très douce avec des couleurs très variées et nuancées.

I really love this very very soft and smooth wool with its very rich and variegated colours.

My simplyshawl : free pattern / Mon simplychâle : modèle gratuit

Malgré une fin d'année scolaire chargée pour cause de réforme, je tricote un peu quand même et je viens de finir un châle tout simple et tout en point mousse que j'ai créé en m'inspirant des modèles faciles trouvés sur le net :



Monter 9 mailles
rang 1 : tricoter 2 mailles, 1 jeté, tricoter 2 mailles, un jeté, tricoter 1 maille (qui sera la maille centrale), 1 jeté, tricoter 2 mailles, un jeté, tricoter 2 mailles = 13 mailles

rang 2 : tricoter toutes les mailles

rang 3 : tricoter 2 mailles , 1 jeté, tricoter 4 mailles, un jeté, tricoter la maille centrale, 1 jeté, tricoter 4 mailles, un jeté, tricoter 2 mailles = 17 mailles

rang 4 : tricoter toutes les mailles

rang 5 : tricoter 2 mailles , 1 jeté, tricoter 6 mailles, un jeté, tricoter la maille centrale, 1 jeté, tricoter 6 mailles, un jeté, tricoter 2 mailles = 21 mailles

Continuer ainsi : il y a toujours une augmentation (un jeté) à deux mailles de chaque bord et de chaque côté de la maille centrale pour les rangs impairs  , et pour les rangs pairs on tricote toutes les mailles. Tout le châle se tricote au point mousse.

C'est vous qui choisissez la taille de votre châle en vous arrêtant quand vous le souhaitez, ou quand vos pelotes sont finies.

J'ai choisi de faire des rayures en alternant deux rang de laine nuancé et deux rang de fil de soie. 

Ce modèle est adaptable à tous types de laine.

Although I have plenty of work because of the end of the school year and the preparation of the school reform, I have found a little time to knit a very easy shawl whose pattern I made "on the go" thanks to easy free patterns I found on the net :

Cast on 9 stitches
Row 1 : knit 2, yarn over, knit 2, yarn over, knit 1 (this will be you central stitch), yarn over, knit 2, yarn over, knit two = 13 stitches
Row 2 : knit
Row 3 : knit 2, yarn over, knit 4,yarn over,  knit 1,yarn over, knit 4, yarn over, knit two = 17 stitches
Row 4 : knit
Row 5 :  knit 2, yarn over, knit 6,yarn over,  knit 1, yarn over, knit 6, yarn over, knit two = 21 stitches

Go on this way : there is always one yo at two stitches from the edges, and one yarn over on both sides of the central stitch

You can bind off when your shawl is big enough or when your wool is finished.

 
I have chosen to make stripes by knitting two rows of variegated yarn and two rows of silk.
You can knit this pattern with any type of yarn.

J'ai terminé ce joli châle Spindrift qui est un modèle gratuit de Helen Stewart de curioushandmade.
Un vrai bonheur que je me suis régalée à tricoter en Drops Alpaca que j'avait acheté à Nantes.

I have just finished the Spindrift shawl, a free pattern by  Helen Stewart from curioushandmade.
It was a real pleasure to knit it with Drops Alpaca  that I had bought in Nantes.

Tuto : Tricoter des éventails / tuto : Knitting clamshells

J'ai été intriguée et intéressée par le châle Aranami de Olga Jazzy et j'ai fait quelques recherches sur cette technique et c'est la vidéo de Cheryl Brunette (en anglais) qui m'a permis de comprendre cette technique très simple.

I was very interested by the  Aranami shawl by Olga Jazzy so I searched the net and it is thanks to Cheryl Brunette's video that I understood how to do it.

So I decided to make this tutorial of this rather simple techique. 

voici mon tuto qui est une version simplifiée de ce que j'ai pu trouver sur le net et qui a l'avantage d'être réversible puisque l'on tricote tout au point mousse.

1er eventail :

1st clamshell : 

- monter 20 mailles et tricoter un rang, tourner l'ouvrage,

- cast on 20 stitches and knit, turn you work,

- glissser la première maille sans la tricoter, tricoter toutes les mailles et tricoter ensemble les deux dernière mailles du rang,

- slip the first stitch without knitting it, knit all the stitches except the last two ones that you will knit together,

- tourner et reproduire ce rang jusqu'à ce qu'il ne vous reste plus de mailles,

- turn you work and go on repeating this round until there are no stitches left,

2ème éventail

2nd clamshell

- relever 10 mailles sur l'un des cotés de votre 1er eventail en glissant votre aiguille dans les boucles du bord

- pick up 10 stitches on the side of the clamshell by inserting your needle under the little loops you can see on the edge of the first clamshell

- tricoter ces 10 mailles,

- knit these 10 stiches,

-  rajouter 10 mailles sur votre aiguille à la suite pour obtenir un total de 20 mailles.

- cast on 10 stitches more on your neddle to get 20 stitches, 

- tricoter comme pour le 1er éventail et relever des mailles de l'autre côté de la même façon.

- knit like in the first clamshell and make another clamshell on the other side with the same technique;

- on obtient ceci : 

- you will get this : 

- vous remarquerez que les éventails ne prennent leur forme qu'un fois bordés de chaque côté par d'autres  éventails

- you will notice that the clamshells really look like clamshells only when they are surrounded by other clamshells.

- pour continuer on relèvera les 20 mailles pour faire un nouvel éventail au centre : 

- to go on, you will pick up 20 stitches in the center to mahe another clamshell : 

- puis ensuite à nouveau sur les cotés comme nous l'avons fait avant.

- and then on the sides like we did before.

Vous pouvez tricoter des éventails plus ou moins grands en choisissant le nombre de mailles que vous voulez et utiliser n'importe quel type de laine avec des aiguilles adaptées. Ici, j'ai utilisé des aiguilles circulaires mais vous pouvez le faire avec des aiguilles classiques sans problème.

A vous de tester et n'hésitez pas  me poser des questions si mon tuto n'est pas clair .

You can change the size of the clamshells by knitting the number of stitches you want. And you can use any sort of wool or any sort of needle, it will only change the final aspect of your work.
