It's a real pleasure to make your own sampler with the things you love.

Veste ample / Large jacket

Here is a jacket I knitted from  pattern from Bergère de France. I used some Canada wool which is a rather cheap and good quality yarn I found at Ecolaines during my last visit in Rennes. It can be machine washed and the jacket is very soft and warm :

Well, I know I am not a very good top model, but you can see the jacket...;-)

La couleur des citrouilles.../ the colour of pumpkins...

It is a question that could be discussed for a long time at our nephew's farm where he produces pumpkins (among others things) in Touraine, not far from Richelieu.

I think I prefer orange ;-)

Tuto pique-aiguilles champignon / Tuto mushroom pinkeep

To share with you my addiction to making mushroom, I made this tutorial to show you how to make a mushroom pinkeep :

For the mushroom you will need :
a skewer
a slice of cork
two circles (one 15 cm and the other one of 10 cm of diameter)
and one rectangle (of 10 cm x 6 cm) of wool or felt
some filling
thread and needle
some glue

For the base you will need :
a jar lid
two corks cut in about 5 or 6 slices
some glue
two circles of wool or felt (1 of the exact size of the lid
and the other one about 1 cm bigger than the lid)

Le champignon /the mushroom

The big circle will be the top of the mushroom and the smaller one will be under. Cut a small hole in the middle of this circle.

Plait lightly the edge of the big circle to make it fit the size of the smaller one and sew them together with an overcasting stitch.

Sew the rectangle to form a tube that will be the stem of the mushroom.

Stuff this tube and insert in it the skewer that must be cut to fit the size of the stem (plus 2 cm) and glue on the top of it a slice of cork that will prevent it from spiking through the cap of the mushroom.

Insert this part in the stuffed cap and sew with invisible stitch.

Le socle/the base

Glue the slices of cork in the lid and take care to have on of these slices thicker than the others to insert the skewer firmly in it.

Glue the smaller circle of wool of felt under the lid.

Mark with a needle the exact place where you will insert the skewer of the mushroom.

Sew the bigger circle on the smaller all around the lid with an overcasting stitch

 Et voilà ! Done!

Insert the skewer of the mushroom in the right place and sew the bottom of the tube with invisible stitches

Et voilà !
Tah dah!

I hope this tutorial will be clear and useful to you, if not I will be happy to answer you questions.
Enjoy !
